Watch: Matt LeBlanc Helps Bring "Man with a Plan" to Life

Joey Tribbiani has returned to TV—or as the ads like to say, "Matt's Le-Back!"

Matt LeBlanc stars in CBS' newest sitcom, Man with a Plan, and this time he plays a dad facing the arduous task of becoming even more of a dad when his wife goes back to work.

"I'm married and have three kids," LeBlanc tells E! News of his character, Adam, in the video above. "Our youngest is now in kindergarten so the house is empty. My wife is a stay-at-home mom, and once the house is empty during the day and all the kids are in school, she wants to go back to work, which is a normal thing so I want to be supportive of that."

Liza Snyder plays Adam's wife, Andi, who works as a hospital lab technician and is the kind of mom who volunteers to be the kindergarten room parent. That means it's now Adam's job to be the kindergarten room parent, and to clean up after their three kids, and to basically cause (and sometimes solve) problems all over the place.

"I agree to help out more with the kids, and fairly quickly realize it's not for me and I don't like it at all. So it becomes a big point of contention between us," LeBlanc says.

While the premise doesn't sound like what we're used to seeing Matt LeBlanc do, it was developed with him in mind.

"Jeff and Jackie Filgo are our writers, and I had met with them to sort of come up with a show, so it was something we sort of developed together," he says. "The script came in great, and I was like yeah, I want to be a part of this."

One thing that is familiar to fans of Friends (or Joey) is the multi-cam format, meaning the show is filmed in front of an audience whose laughter can be heard.

"I get a kick out of that. It's fun," LeBlanc says. "You can tell if the jokes are working. It's like, if they're not laughing, it's probably not funny."
