influensterAnother day, another chance to learn something new about your state. Yesterday we talked about the favorite TV shows in every state, and today we're covering candy. Because it's almost Halloween, the people over at Influenster put together a very interesting map that illustrates the preferred sweets wherever you may live. Apparently, the U.S. gets down with everything from Snickers to Candy Corn, and some pretty surprising sweets too. For starters, they discovered that the highest rated candy was Reese's Peanut Butter Cups along with Kit Kat and Butterfinger. These classic items, they found, are admired by each and every state as top choices. Surprisingly, a large number of people are really into Candy Corn including states like Oregon. Tennessee, Texas, Wyoming and South Carolina. Oddly enough, Life Savers were the top choice for people living in California which leads us to believe everyone there is most likely your grandma.
New York is way too down with Sweet Tarts for some reason, despite the fact that they're basically fake pills made of sour chalk. To each his own. Virginia's top choice was Oreo's, which is kind of odd considering, in our mind, this is more of a cookie than candy. Oh, well? Arizona prefers a pretty unique candy, as their top pick was the chocolate bar, Toblerone. Two states are really into Laffy Taffy, another two like Air Heads, and Utah knows what's up with their box of Nerds obsession. Nevada is going way '90s with their love for Jolly Ranchers, while Mississippi and Missouri are cool with the classic Hershey's Kiss. The real question is, why doesn't anyone like Fun Dip anymore? What happened to the days of Ring Pops, Bubble Tape and Baby Bottle Pops?! We may never know.
