An American Girl in Paris: Part Trois might be closer than we thought!

Sarah Jessica Parker, the titular star behind Sex and the City's beloved Carrie Bradshaw, recently dished to CBS' Sunday Morning about the potential for a third silver screen installment to the franchise, and this time around, there's actually good news to be shared.

Back in May, the actress-turned-designer squashed any and all hope for a revival when she said there are "currently no plans" to bring SATC back for a third round. Fortunately this all changed Sunday, when SJP revealed, "I will say that the idea, it rests in the butler's pantry. Not on the table, but somebody is holding it fairly nearby."

Fairly nearby? We'll take it.

We Ranked All the Sex and the City Relationships

The last time we saw Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha together onscreen (save for binging SATC reruns on the daily) was six years ago when Sex and the City 2 hit theaters, and given 2018 marks the twentieth anniversary of its HBO premiere, suffice to say the timing has never been better.

"One can't help but picture a Golden Girls kind of version of Sex and the City," Jane Pauley mused to Parker during their interview, adding, "If you're inclined to be looking back on your lives at all, or are you still looking forward?"

"I would have sort of imagined that those women have only interest in looking ahead, while being informed by the past," Parker said. "And in a way, maybe that would be the best for all of us—living people, nonfictional as well!"

Every leading lady from the hit series has given their take on a third film, and over the years their enthusiasm for a reunion has ranged from "let it go" to "where can I sign on the dotted line?" Fingers crossed Sarah Jessica's latest confession is evidence of the latter.
