Watch: Laverne Cox Recalls First "Rocky Horror" Experience

You always remember your first time—and for the cast of Fox's Rocky Horror Picture Show remake, their first experiences with the influential movie musical were very memorable.

While on the Toronto set of the production, the cast shared their memories of their first time watching the movie with E! News. Star Laverne Cox, who follows in Tim Curry's footsteps as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, said the movie really struck a chord with her when she first saw it as a freshman at Indiana University.

"I was transfixed. I was like, What is this? This is amazing," she gushed to us.

She added, "This Frank-N-Furter character just really spoke to me, particularly at that time in my life. I was in a gender nonconforming space. I had a shaved head; I was starting to wear makeup and dresses to school every day…and I saw this movie and I was like, ‘This is me!' And the song 'Don't Dream It, Be It' became a personal mantra for me."

Victoria Justice, who plays good girl Janet Weiss (played by Susan Sarandon in the original), had her first RHPS as a kid.

"I was in fifth grade, so I must have been about 10 years old. I don't know if I really understood it, per say—I think still sometimes when I watch it I'm like 'What is going on?' In the best way possible," she revealed. But that wasn't her only experience with the film.

"When I was 15, I went to my first midnight showing, which was so cool. Rocky Horror Picture Show is an experience, and once you experience it there's no going back. You'll never forget it."

Staz Nair, who plays the perfectly sculpted Rocky, says he loved the open feeling of the film. "I liked how outrageous it was. I liked how open it was; it was free," he told us.
