The Hills of Los Angeles are alive with its fair share of drama. But what is completely real and what is absolutely fake?

It's been more than 10 years since viewers said goodbye to the hit MTV series which featured Audrina Patridge, Lauren Conrad, Stephanie Pratt and more familiar faces.

But after all this time, fans are still curious to know whether their favorite scenes were just for TV or absolutely authentic.

In a new interview with Vulture, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are opening up about their experience on the show. And spoiler alert, they aren't holding anything back.

"I'd say everything with Lauren was real. She really didn't want me hanging out with Spencer anymore and she really wanted me to be with her a lot, all the time. That was really challenging for me," Heidi shared with the publication. "I wasn't sure with Spencer. Because he just came from producing and I was in on it and I didn't really know."

The "Body Language" singer added, "I mean, I'm just a small-town girl from Colorado pretending to get it. But our relationships were real. I wanted to take a leap of faith with Spencer because in my gut, I loved him and I thought, I'll put everything on the line for him.' If it doesn't work out, at least, for the rest of my life, I know I tried and I won't have the regrets."

For Spencer, filming a reality show while also trying to keep his relationship with Heidi strong proved to be a difficult process.

He references a time when he brought playmates to the club that led Heidi to start crying. "It's like, ‘You knew this was planned,'" Spencer shared. "That's where people have real emotions. Everything that I did on the show, I think, still bothers her—even though it's like, ‘Oh, I did that for the show.'"

Spencer added, "I was just like, ‘We need story lines.' When you're chasing story lines, it's very challenging. It's hard enough to have a relationship in any case, let alone one where you're trying to make fiction. It's like balancing two different authors."

Today, reality TV's famous couple can't help but look at other relationships on the small screen. And before you think they are skeptics, the duo are actually quite supportive of many.

"I love Jax Taylor and his girlfriend. They are super cute on Vanderpump Rules," Heidi shared. Spencer added, "Ray J and Princess on Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood. I believe in them."
