Full disclosure: We're still pretty bummed out to have to say goodbye to Disneyland's Tower of Terror ride, but...

We're actually pretty excited for its replacement attraction, named Guardians of the Galaxy—Mission: Breakout! Disney unveiled a sneak peek at its upcoming attraction, set to open summer 2017, on its Disney Parks blog Monday. They also shared a video showing the Collector's Fortress and plans for its transformation underway.

"So the setting is a giant warehouse belong to the collector, this huge power plant kind of a place, that's surging with power, rising up into the sky, and parked with all of his rare, irreplaceable collections form around the world," says Joe Rohde, Portfolio Creative Executive at Walt Disney Imagineering.

John Mauro, Executive Producer of Walt Disney Imagineering, explains how the "physical model is used as a design tool" for the actual ride, saying, "It shows the full composition of all of our colors...[and] a lot of elements." Mauro says there will be "power references" throughout the ride's aesthetic, too.

Disney Parks blog notes that Guardians of the Galaxy–Mission: Breakout ride will feature characters from the blockbuster films as well as a "familiar, breathtaking free-fall sensation." Guests can also expect to "experience a variety of randomized ride experience," which means there's an element of surprise every time you take in the attraction.
