After months of heated back-and-forth, insults and more drama, Megyn Kelly and Donald Trump finally faced off in a highly anticipated interview Tuesday. But for The Daily Show's Trevor Noah, it didn't live up to what was promised.

"The hype for this event was out of control," Noah said on his show the following evening. "It was like if Apple revealed the new iPhone in the middle of a new Beyoncé song in the middle of the new Star Wars sequel. It was so hyped up."

The GOP presidential hopeful had called for a boycott of The Kelly File, while the Fox host continued to criticize Trump about his comments on women. When the interview finally aired, however, many people, including Noah, felt Kelly went a little too easy on Trump.

"This was sold as a bloodbath," he continued. "But in the end it just turned out to be one of those couple's baths that only exist in, like, the Cialis commercials."

Cialis, if you don't know, is an erectile dysfunction medication.

But Noah didn't lose all hope upon watching her kick off the interview with a few softball questions. In fact, he thought this was going to be a well-planned attack. "Unlike Cialis, she's softening Trump up," he joked. Noah thought she was going to "soften" him up before attacking with the hard questions, which, in his opinion, never happened. Instead, he thought it was more about the individuals involved than keeping politicians accountable.

"It was about two brands: Donald trump and Megyn Kelly and whether they could forge a beneficial partnership," Noah noted. He also compared it to "couple's therapy."

Kelly, however, was none too pleased with Noah's assessment of her interview. The Fox broadcaster took to Twitter Thursday to defend herself against The Daily Show host's attacks. "So grateful I have men like @Trevornoah 2 advise on how to deal w/gender attacks," she wrote. "I'm sure his life experience far better than mine on this!"

She also addressed the criticism surrounding her interview on her own show Wednesday, claiming it's "possible that some of these folks don't like Trump, or Republicans, and wanted to see me take him out."
