It has resulted in some seriously sweet moments in front of the camera.
The enduring couple celebrate their 18th wedding anniversary today, having tied the knot in New Year's Eve in 1997—two kids, a fruitful producing partnership and countless good times ago.
Will and Jada, the subject of so much "what's really going on with them?" speculation over the years have done nothing but continue to thrive as partners in life and parenting, the pair almost seeming to gain strength the rumors—until, of course, they get out of hand and Will shuts 'em down with a badass Facebook post before he and Jada head out once again and cause serious relationship envy with how darn hot they are together.
Back in 2013, Jada tried to explain what she once said in an interview about Will being able to "do whatever he wants" with a lengthy treatise on why people should really not waste their time worrying about what she and her husband are up to, concluding with: "Here is how I will change my statement...Will and I BOTH can do WHATEVER we want, because we TRUST each other to do so. This does NOT mean we have an open relationship...this means we have a GROWN one."
Well, being grownups seems to suit them.
"Really, at the end of the day, it's just not quitting," Will told Entertainment Tonight last month, looking perplexed as to why most people don't seem to have picked up on that secret to making things work.
"You can't expect it to be easy. Our marriage was the most difficult, grueling and excruciating thing that we've ever taken on in our lives. We're just not quitters, and by the same token we're not apathetic, so we're not going to sit there and let it be painful, we're going to keep working. And if there is a secret, I'd say is that we never went into working on our relationship. We only ever worked on ourselves individually and then presented ourselves to one another better than we were previously."
And no one looks to be enjoying the fruits of their labor more than they are.
Their children together, Jaden and Willow, are easily becoming two of the most fascinating celebrities in Hollywood, let alone celebrity kids; Will and Jada are both close with his son Trey from his previous marriage; and the actors themselves still look utterly devoted to each other after more than 20 years together.
We're not sure what more people want out of their Hollywood romances...
