Never say President Barack Obama doesn't have a sense of humor—or a sense of adventure for that matter. President Obama took to the Alaskan wilderness with Bear Grylls on NBC's Running Wild with Bear Grylls and he's got the wink wink, nudge nudge jokes. In the exclusive clip below, Obama opens up about his Secret Service bubble to make sure he's "out of danger," which he very much appreciates.

"But [it] can be a little confining. In fact every once in a while, when I go off track, if I do something unexpected, the phrase we use is, ‘The bear is loose,'" he said. But wait, the jokes don't stop there, click play on the video below for more.

In what NBC is billing as an "historic" episode of Running Wild with Bear Grylls, Obama and Grylls will hit the forests, walk across Alaska's famous Exit Glacier and witness climate change first hand. Yes, they do eat wild salmon that a real bear had sampled. Look for the president to get a "true taste of Alaska" and reveal candid thoughts on his official duties, life at the White House, his own faith and being a father.

President Obama's Running Wild episode airs Thursday, Dec. 17 at 10 p.m. on NBC.

(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
