The Big Bang Theory has a very big episode on Thursday, Dec. 17. Not only is it Star Wars: The Force Awakens day, but it's also Sheldon's (Jim Parsons) first. Yes, it's Sheldon's big bang. Sheldon and Amy (Mayim Bialik) will have sex for the first time after a breakup and reconciling.

In the episode, "The Opening Night Excitation," Sheldon is visited by guest star Bob Newhart who advises him on what to do—should he go to Star Wars or spend Amy's birthday with her. Seems like he makes the right decision.

"Seems like five and a half year is long enough for Amy to wait to finally be with Sheldon like this, " writer and executive producer Steve Molaro said in the video below.

"They seemed to have grown to the point where this was something that seemed natural,"executive producer Chuck Lorre added. Still, it came as a surprise for Parsons. "I didn't see this coming at all," he admitted.

But once the deed is done, there's still more to come. "We still have to wait and see what happens next week, just like in real life," Bialik said and teasing a lot of "very sweet anxiety" fills the episode.

"It just felt somewhat natural," Parsons said. "It felt like the right time for them, it did."

See how it all goes down tonight at 8 p.m. on CBS.
