Disney Channel star Tiffany Thornton and her family held a funeral in remembrance of her husband, who died in a tragic car accident in Arkansas last week, and friend Demi Lovato took to Twitter after the service to share her condolences and support for her friend during such a hard time.
"Today has been all too real. Please please please #pray4theCarneys #RIPChrisCarney," Demi wrote, before adding, "I love you @therealTiffany and so do millions more. Stay strong. We are praying for you."
Late last night, Demi told her fans, "Life is so short. Love as many people as much as you possibly can. Never take one day or one loved one for granted."
Chris, a former member of rock band The Prom Kings, married Tiffany in 2011.
Tiffany's husband and his friend, Ezekiel Blanton, were both killed in a single car accident Friday at approximately 1:40 a.m. Per The Arkansas Times, which first reported the news, the vehicle reportedly slammed into a tree going around a bend. Ezekial, 37, is listed as the driver of the car; Chris, 35, was his only passenger.
"With the sad news that has filled our hearts we have decided to set up a page in memory of Chris Carney," the family wrote on a GoFundMe page.
"These funds will go towards the living expenses for Tiffany and their boys KJ and Bentley. We all know how hard Chris loved everyone around him. Lets keep his name alive and celebrate the times we all shared with him. This is a time for us to grieve, but also a time to stand up as one and support Tiffany and Chris' family. Any donation amount would be greatly appreciated."
Upon hearing the tragic news, Demi, who was in the couple's wedding party, took to Instagram to share a photo from their special day with the caption, "Been trying to figure out what to say all day... This morning I woke up to terrible news. My good friend Chris Carney has passed away. This picture is a perfect example of the love he shared with Tiff and how much fun he was to be around. I've been to many weddings but this is by far the most memorable because the way they looked into each other's eyes and the love they had for one another.
"There were tons of laughs and tons of tears and I'll never forget the way he looked at her. It doesn't seem real and I'm still in shock.. Still speechless. I don't know how to put into words how heartbroken I am for Tiffany and their two baby boys. You're already missed Chris.. And Tiffany I love you so much.. I'm so unbelievably sorry...
