For most musicians, a Grammy Award nomination marks a major milestone in their career. Today, musical newcomers and golden statue veterans alike relished in the highly anticipated announcement of the 2016 nominees.

Industry pros Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar topped the list with the most nominations of the group, while newcomers Tori Kelly and Sam Hunt garnered their first recognition within the elite group just this year.

Regardless of whether it's their first or fifteenth time on the coveted list, the stars equally expressed their gratitude, shock and joy to the masses in honor of this grandiose achievement.

"Photograph" crooner Ed Sheeran was among the very first to reveal his reaction to the announcement, writing to fans on Twitter, "I wasn't expecting the Grammy noms, thank you." The singer earned three nominations this year for Song of the Year, Album of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, taking his nomination tally to nine in total despite no win as of yet. He may not be expecting it, but perhaps this is the year of a Grammy victory for Sheeran.

Standards crooner Josh Groban also took to social media to express his surprise, saying that he was "honored to be in such tremendous company."

Nominated for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album, the 34-year-old singer, who was introduced to the Grammy world with his first nomination a decade ago, does share tough, but legendary company, including fellow nominees Barry Manilow, Bob Dylan and Tony Bennett

While Grammy winner John Legend added another four nominations to his resume for his Golden Globe and Oscar-winning Rap/Sung Collaboration "Glory" with Common, wife Chrissy Teigen was there to support her man in the one way she knows best—by keeping it real.

"@johnlegend and i just barely made it to the bathroom in time. big day," the model and mom-to-be joked about her husband's grand accomplishment.

While Legend already has a jaw-dropping 23 nominations under his belt, the really exciting news here is "Glory" may go on to join the exclusive club of songs who have won a Grammy, Oscar and Golden Globe altogether.

Ever the gracious lady, "Piece By Piece" songstress Kelly Clarkson expressed well wishes to those who nominate her and her fellow nominees. With two more Grammy nominations in the bag, the expecting mom is credited with a dozen nominations and three wins. After a two-year win hiatus, perhaps 2016 will be not only the year of her baby, but also the year of another Grammy.
