Nashville's Clare Bowen confirmed she's engaged to her longtime boyfriend and fellow musician Brandon Robert Young. In one simple tweet, the actress declared Young had indeed popped the question Saturday night during a performance at the The Grand Ole Opry at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium. "Thank you!" she tweeted to digital news outlet Sounds Like Nashville, which broke the news on her weekend proposal.
To make matters even more endearing, Bowen posted an additional tweet the same day with one single descriptive word "Unforgettable," a likely reference to her whirlwind weekend.
As a couple, this pair simply could not be cuter. This future union comes as no surprise to friends and fans alike. The 31-year-old blond beauty and her dark-haired hunk have chronicled their behind-the-scenes romance on their individual Instagram accounts, often touring and performing together on the country music circuit.
This is not the first time Bowen has made headlines with the happenings of her life off-camera. In early November, Bowen surprisingly chopped her long blond tresses off and rocked a pixie cut. However, the chop wasn't simply a style change. She took to Facebook to explain the secret intention behind her bold new look.
"I was really inspired when I heard a story about a little girl who said she couldn't be a princess because she didn't have long hair, and I wanted her, and others like her to know that's not what makes a princess, or a warrior, or a superhero. It's not what makes you beautiful either," she wrote.
When she was just four years old, the star was diagnosed with end stage nephroblastoma and spent her childhood in the hospital surrounded by her young peers with similar health battles.
