Backstreet's back all right!

Dancing With the Stars has yet to officially announce the celebrity cast for its upcoming 21st season soon, ABC has finally made it official and announced Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter will be competing for the mirrorball trophy when the ABC reality hit returns on Sept. 14. E! News previously reported Carter was being courted by the dancing reality series.

Carter joins Bindi Irwin and jockey Victor Espinoza as the officially announced cast members of DWTS season 21. Irwin, the daughter of The Crocodile Hunter star Steve Irwin, was announced on Good Morning America and Espinoza was announced on SportsNation. Espinoza shot to fame when he and horse American Pharoah won the Triple Crown in 2015.

Carter took to Twitter to share his excitement.

Though they've performed on the show before, Carter is actually the first member of BSB to ever compete on DWTS. But Carter won't be the first member of his family to join the show as his little brother Aaron Carter was part of the cast in season nine, when he was paired with Karina Smirnoff.

And Smirnoff is set to return to the show after taking season 20 off, so maybe she'll land another Carter as a partner!

DWTS will officially announce its cast of celebs for season 21 in early September on Good Morning America. But we can already rule out one major celeb who will not be competing: Caitlyn Jenner, as former champ Alfonso Ribeiro revealed to E! News that the I Am Cait star turned the opportunity down.

For now, we at least know nine of the professional dancers who will be competing. In addition to Smirnoff, returning champ Val Chmerkovskiy, Derek Hough, Mark Ballas, Artem Chigvintsev, Allison Holker, Witney Carson, Sharna Burgess and Peta Murgatroyd are set to return for season 21.

Dancing  With the Stars premieres Monday, Sept. 14 on ABC.
