There was life before March 25, 2015, and there has been what "life" is since then.
That fateful spring day marks the moment Zayn Malik saw what we now know was inevitable, the probable disintegration of One Direction, and he jumped ship first.
He walked away from one of the biggest boy band's of late to "be a normal 22-year-old," a.k.a. debut a 'do reminscent of Sisqó, call it off with his girl, and go solo after a messy spat with naughty boy Naughty Boy.
Someone's been busy!
In the meantime, loyal Directioners are trying really hard to keep it together. Like, they're totally freaking out, because that's generally how they react to most life developments, but for the most part they're being hella stoic. Good for them.
But hey, it's normal to go through the stages of band breakup grief. Anniversaries can dredge up old feelings.
So as Twitter looks back on #5MonthsWithoutZayn, we'll indulge for a day and wallow in our sorrows. It's been a difficult year to be a Directioner. Let's commiserate together.
