Well, well, well...the people have spoken.

All this week we asked you, the readers, to vote on your favorite funny, outrageous and heartwarming viral stories. There were plenty of great (and ridiculous) moments to choose from. There was Rachel Dolezal and her fake blackness. There was Donald Trump's verbal diarrhea. There was LeBron James' penis. There was an epic Twitter battle between Meek Mill and Drake

Every day the competition got hotter and hotter, with the poll knocking off idiotic politicians and poisonous Coca-Cola with reckless abandon. But yesterday was the semifinals, which means the public was forced to choose between the world's epic reaction to the marriage equality vote and the Internet's dedication to taking down Cecil the Lion's killer.

And this time, it seems that #LoveWins once again.

That's right, you the people decided that out of all the crazy viral moments of the summer, the most heartwarming was the most worthy of praise. And we gotta say, we completely agree. As much as we were fascinated by LeBron's X-rated slip, getting to celebrate the long-awaited marriage equality ruling was a highlight of our whole lives.

From the steps of the courthouse in Washington, D.C., to the Stonewall Inn in New York City, to every corner of Twitter and Instagram, citizens everywhere hailed the historic decision and praised love—in ALL its forms. Summer 2015 really was the Summer of Love, in the best way possible.

You go, voters.
