A U.K. online doctor service has used Photoshop to illustrate a powerful message about the various perceptions of beauty in different countries.

"How do perceptions of beauty vary across the globe?" the website asked.

Using a photo of a model wearing a bra, underwear and pink wedges, the site asked graphic designers from 18 different countries to retouch the image according to each country's idea of the ideal female figure.

"Widely held perceptions of beauty and perfection can have a deep and lasting cultural impact on both women and men," the site states. "The goal of this project is to better understand potentially unrealistic standards of beauty and to see how such pressures vary around the world."

The results are incredibly eye-opening as the designers not only made changes to the model's figure, but also to her hair, eye-shape, waist-size, breasts and even the woman's shoes.

As a result of the vast differences in body size, the site took the study one step further and estimated what the "perfect" woman would weigh.

"We ran a brief survey with a 35-person sample and, assuming a height of 165 centimeters (about 5'4"), asked participants to guess the weight of the woman in each Photoshopped image," the site explains. "We then calculated her BMI based on average weight data."

According to the site, China and Italy had the lowest weights (102 lbs. and 108 lbs., respectively) while Spain had the highest at 153 pounds.

As for the U.S.? It came in 7th on the list with the model weighing an estimated 128 pounds.
