Watch: What Inspired Alexander Skarsgard to Dress in Drag?

Remember that time Alexander Skarsgård dressed in drag? Of course, how could you forget?

The hunky 6-foot-4 actor surprised many on Monday night when he dressed in drag and posed for photographers at the Diary of a Teenage Girl premiere in San Francisco, and now we know why.

While interviewing the star during the film's New York premiere last night, Skarsgård explained how the whole ensemble came to play, while also jokingly saying how weird he felt not dressing in drag this time around.

"I'm disappointed in myself. It feels awkward wearing a pair of jeans. I feel physically and emotionally naked now," he quipped.

As for why he opted to put on that shiny gold dress and a full-face, the celeb simply said he just wanted to be a part of the fun!

"We had a lot of drag queens in front of and behind the camera," he explained. "All the drag queens were gonna host the screening and do a little number from Rocky Horror Picture Show before the screening and throw a great after-party."

Skarsgård continued to tell us that he mentioned how he didn't, "wanna be excluded from all the fun, is there a way I can join? Can I dress in drag as well? And they were nice enough to say yes. I had a blast."

The 38-year-old, who also revealed that his drag name is Lady Lavidia and Lush Body, also spilled on who his celeb inspiration was when putting his look together (the hair was kind of a dead giveaway).

"I sent them pictures of Farrah Fawcett. They were like, 'We probably can't do that, but we can try.' So that's our sad attempt of looking like Farrah Fawcett."

Hey, it didn't turn out too bad! Don't forget to catch Diary of a Teenage Girl when it hits theaters tomorrow.
