Hart of Dixie fans, listen up!

Rachel Bilson wants to clarify the reason that the long-running CW show was canceled. While she doesn't necessarily give the exact reason behind the network's decision, she does list a reason that played no role in the show's ending. In a photo of herself on Instagram dressed in character as Zoe Hart, Bilson, 33, explained that her real-life pregnancy had nothing to do with the choice to end it.

"Missing the #zoehart #hartofdixie days, especially this outfit and this lady. Just wanted to clear something up, the cancellation of HOD had nothing to do with me or my pregnancy. I loved my show and loved playing Zoe Hart, thanks to everyone who watched," she captioned the pic. She also included a black heart, syringe and pill emoji to refer to her character's career as a doctor.

E! News confirmed The O.C. alum was expecting her first child with Hayden Christensen in May 2014; Briar Rose was born later that year. The couple met on the set of Jumper in 2007, became engaged in 2008 but called it off in August 2010, only to reconcile three months later. The actress has always been open about her desire to be a mom, telling Health magazine that she'd love to have a baby with Hayden.

"To start a family would be good, any year in the next few years. I've always wanted to be a mom," she said. I have always wanted kids. I can just see this little toddler waddling around the house."

Although CW President Mark Pedowitz didn't say the exact reason for the cancelation, he did allude to the fact that the show's ratings might have played a role.

"We have to see the ratings," he said during the 2015 TCA Press Tour prior to the show's cancelation. He then talked about the season four finale, saying, "If [Hart of Dixie] ends, it's a great series finale. And if it doesn't end, it's a great season finale."

Hart of Dixie creator Leila Gerstein told E! News ahead of the season four premiere that it wasn't up to her whether the show continued or ended.

"Well, I can't speak to that, as the decision to renew or cancel is out of my hands," Gerstein told E! News. "I can tell the fans that this season is for you and you're going to love this season. No one is going to feel unsatisfied by the end. Obviously we hope for many, many more seasons but everyone will be happy with this season."
