The 42-year-old is the latest star to go neon, dying her signature blond tresses a very vivid shade of magenta. She first took to Twitter to share her drastic hair color makeover, posting a selfie with the caption: "No #DSF today. Tune into Kathie Lee & Hoda! I've got a something to show you! #DonnieLovesJenny @klgandhoda."
Prior to this bold hair color swap, an angular bob was the most cutting-edge change McCarthy had done to her hair. Perhaps she's copying Kelly Ripa's bubblegum hued style, or maybe she was inspired Hilary Duff's own punchy pink ombré
Truth be told, we're not totally convinced McCarthy's new hair is a permanent fixture, considering just how difficult upkeep would be for that ultra-bright shade. Aside from just dying her hair pink, theories include that the distinctive hair color could be a potent rinse, or a skillful wig.
