Breaking up is easier said than done.

Almost three months after E! News confirmed Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin had split, the twosome appear to be staying quite friendly as they reunited last week for dinner.

E! News has learned the twosome "enjoyed a romantic Italian dinner" at Madeo in West Hollywood, Calif. on Thursday evening.

"The two were very sweet with each other," a source told E! News. "They kept under the radar at their cozy, candle-lit table."

Sounds lovely, don't you think?

The dinner comes just days after Gwyneth Paltrow opened up about her ex's new girlfriend for the very first time. Contrary to reports, the actress does not hold any ill will to the duo who first started seeing each other in June.

"Who says I don't approve of Jennifer Lawrence," Paltrow asked on Howard Stern's SiriusXM radio show. "I respect him as the father of my children…It's his decision…He wouldn't be with someone who isn't great."

Besides, both Martin and Paltrow remain deeply in each other's lives as they continue to embark on new adventures.

"We've worked really f--king hard to get to [this] point," Paltrow shared with Marie Claire. "But we're very, very close, and it's so nice. I feel like it's, in a way, the relationship we were meant to have."

Now this sounds like the definition of conscious uncoupling.
