Coldplay, Chris Martin

No, we're not going to speculate and ask the obvious questions like, "Is Chris Martin singing about his split from Gwyneth Paltrow or what?!"

We're not going to do that, but we are going to marvel at the talented frontman and his band Coldplay who debuted a new song titled "Oceans" off their forthcoming album Ghost Stories during their visit to the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge today.

If you weren't a fan of the British rock band before (we don't understand you, but we're also not going to judge you), your feelings could very possibly change after hearing the group live.

There are notes Martin hits that are just incredible, and they sound just as amazing as they do while playing on repeat on your radio at home.

And their latest track hits the hopeless romantics, who listen to Martin strum his acoustic guitar (with his ringless finger—ahem) and breathe the words "Wait for your call/ The call never came/ Ready to fall in/ Ready to claim/ I'm ready for it all, love/ I'm ready for the change."

Sigh, swoon.

The band also announced the release of Coldplay: Ghost Stories, an hourlong special set to air on NBC on Sunday, May 18th that will blend live footage with "360-degree imagery," according to Rolling Stone. The special will be "an immersive blend of light and video, dramatic staging and an intimate world-premiere performance."

The show was filmed in March, when the band played the album in its entirety at an L.A. soundstage that same month for an audience of 800.

Speaking of NBC, mark your calendars! Coldplay will make their fifth musical appearance on Saturday Night Live on May 3, and you know you don't want to miss another live performance from these guys, right?
