We've heard those six words come out of The Bachelor host Chris Harrison's mouth 18 times now as each and very finale is dubbed the ABC reality hit's most shocking, but they may just be true when it came to Monday's season ender, which found Juan Pablo Galavis joining the ranks of the franchise's most polarizing stars ever.
While he didn't end his journey on the show engaged, Juan Pablo is still dating the winner, Nikki Ferrell, but that doesn't mean there wasn't any major drama: not only did he manage to completely offend the runner-up, Clare Crawley, but it was revealed he has yet to say "I love you" to his girlfriend.Oh, and he was super hostile towards Chris Harrison and the show's producers.
But is Juan Pablo really the worst Bachelor ever? And was his "happy ending" the franchise's least-pleasing? We're ranking the Top 5 worst (yet oh-so-entertaining) endings in Bachelor history...
5. Jake Pavelka: Though he ended his journey on the show engaged to Vienna Girardi, Season 14's resident bad girl, the duo engaged in one bitter breakup during a sitdown special with Chris Harrison that was downright ugly. Jake accused Vienna of cheating. Vienne called Jake "a fame whore." Mud was slung all over the stage and no one walked away from the "special" looking like a winner.
4. Ben Flajnik: Being the bad girl of your season sometimes comes at a cost, just ask Courtney Robertson. Though Ben proposed to her in the finale, his opinion of her completely changed after watching the show "led to Courtney and I not talking for a period of time...We were essentially broken up," he said during the After the Rose special. Courtney said she felt "abandoned" by the Bachelor, who denied cheating allegations. Though they ended the special still engaged, they split just nine months later, surprising no one.
3. Brad Womack: In a major first (and only!) for The Bachelor, Brad became the most hated man in America when he made it all the way to the 11th season finale and decided he didn't want to be with either of his final two ladies, DeAnna Pappas or Jenni Croft.
He then returned in Season 15 to once again try and find love in front of ABC's cameras. This time around, he ended up proposing to Emily Maynard, but the duo split just three months later, leading to a he-said-she-said round of tweets and headlines.
2. Jason Mesnick: In arguably the franchise's most shocking moment ever, Jason realized he proposed to the wrong finalist...and announced it live during the After the Rose ceremony. Though he asked Melissa Rycroft to marry him, Mesnick realized after the show ended he was actually in love with Molly Malaney. "Since this all ended, things have been different and we're not right for each other," he explained. "After the last few weeks, I haven't been able to stop thinking about Molly."
After he broke the news to Melissa on TV, she said, "You are such a bastard...don't call me and don't text me anymore. Leave me alone please," before giving back the ring.
Alas, everyone got their happy ending: Jason and Molly said "I do" in 2010 and have two kids, while Melissa married Tye Strickland, an old friend, in 2009, and the couple also has two children. Melissa also went on to win the All-Star season of Dancing with the Stars, so she's doing just fine.
1. Juan Pablo Galavis: Maybe because our wounds are still so raw, we're going with Juan Pabs as the worst. Not only was he disrespectful to the women (saying "insulting" things off-camera, according to the runner-up, Clare) and made headlines for his controversial gay remarks, but he, as Catherine Guidici put it, was biting the hand that fed him during the After the Rose ceremony. Attempting to call producers out for forcing him and "winner" Nikki Ferrell to "change plans" just two weeks ago, he was rude to Harrison and refused to talk about his feelings, saying, "We're done with this show! We're so done."
Oh, and the big surprise Juan Pablo had in store, that the producers used to tease the finale in countless promotional ads? Nada.
And during the finale, in which he didn't end up proposing to Nikki, saying it wasn't ready, he actually said these words after saying goodbye to Clare: "I am so glad I didn't pick her."
As Andi Dorfman, the new Bachelorette, once said: there'a a difference between being honest and being an "asshole."
