Peter Parker frenemy Harry Osborn is getting the Amazing treatment.

The Amazing Spider-Man director Marc Webb revealed today who will be playing Harry in the planned sequel: Dane DeHaan!

You know the sandy-haired cutie from the quirky superhero flick Chronicle, as well as Lawless, True Blood, In Treatment (he was season-three Wednesday patient Jesse, so we know he can brood) and, most recently, Lincoln.

"To say I'm excited is an understatement.#HarryOsborn #ASM2," DeHaan tweeted following Webb's reveal, which also came via Twitter.

"All this love is makin' me feel all tingly inside. Thanks ya'll," added the 25-year-old actor.

James Franco, of course, played Osborn in the Tobey Maguire-starring Spider-Man trilogy, ultimately biting off more than he could chew as the New Goblin, out to avenge his father's death.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 doesn't swing into theaters until May 2, 2014, so you've got plenty of time to go back and watch all three of Franco's performances, the better to adequately compare the two Harrys.

What do you think of Dane DeHaan as the new Harry Osborn? Can he fill the shoes left by James Franco? Excited about the sequel? Do share!
