Ivanka Trump Harasser Gets Probation, Must Stay on His Meds

He didn't exactly trump the system, but the guy who was bothering Ivanka Trump online doesn't have to spend any more time locked up.

Justin Massler pleaded guilty to aggravated harassment and criminal contempt for his tweeting and emailing about Donald Trump's little girl. The Ivanka fan was sentenced to time served, plus five years of probation during which he must continue his regimen of medication and psychiatric treatment.

According to his lawyer, Massler suffers from schizophrenia. He was declared unfit for trial last May and ordered to spend a year in the psychiatric ward at New York City's Bellevue Hospital.

So how did he end up pleading guilty today?

About three weeks ago, doctors reevaluated Massler and declared him fit for trial, so long as he was on his meds.

Massler was first arrested in March 2010 in Reno, Nev., after starting a blog on which he posted about his desires in connection with the businesswoman and Apprentice star.

Per police records, he sent emails about her to the New York Observer, which is owned by Ivanka's husband, Jared Kushner. Massler also attempted to reach her directly via email and Twitter, at one point threatening to kill himself outside her NYC boutique if she didn't send him an autographed photo.
