Don't close the book yet on Bridget Jones' famous diary!

Rumors of trouble have swirled around Bridget Jones's Baby, the third installment in the big-screen adventures of the popular literary character, memorably played by Renée Zellweger.

The latest chatter? That costar Hugh Grant was keen on pulling out of the project following some major script problems.

But the film's producers want to set the record straight…

"Reports that Hugh Grant has exited Bridget Jones's Baby are untrue," explained Working Title co-chairman Tim Bevan in the statement. "We are still working on the script, hence the delay to the start of production, but the film is going ahead as planned."

Grant's rep's chimed in as well, assuring skeptics that the actor is still on board—with some caveats: "Hugh is keen that Bridget Jones 3 happens, but Renée, Colin and he all have some issues with the present script. They are hoping to help work them out."

If they can work it out, producers could be looking at another critical and commercial hit. Zellweger nabbed an Oscar nomination for Best Actress for the first movie, Bridget Jones's Diary.

Throw in its sequel, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, and the series has grossed over $540 million worldwide.

Here's hoping Zellweger and crew get to deliver this Baby!
