Dave Allocca/Startraksphoto.com Even though pieces from Katie Holmes' own clothing line, Holmes & Yang, may cost more than a pretty penny, it's nice to know that Mrs. Cruise has no problem slipping into more affordable fashions.
Holmes was in NYC yesterday for a photo shoot to promote her new movie, The Romantics, with castmates, Josh Duhamel and Malin Åkerman. All three were lookin' super cute in pieces from J.Crew's upcoming Fall 2010 collection, according to InStyle.
Holmes sparkled in a pink sleeveless minidress paired with a brown belt while Duhamel donned a classic suit, white shirt and a preppy blue tie. Åkerman mixed a glittery brown miniskirt with a grey sleeveless hoodie.
So what's the connection to the clothing retailer? The cast of the Romantics, an indie flick about college friends who reunite for a wedding that also stars Anna Paquin and Elijah Wood, apparently wears a lot of J.Crew in the movie.
And this isn't Holmes' first time at the J.Crew rodeo. Back in 1998, she and her Dawson's Creek costars James Van Der Beek, Michelle Williams and Joshua Jackson not only wore the classic prepster label on the show, but were featured in two of its catalogs.
Wonder if Joey Potter would be wearing Holmes & Yang today.
