Will the Emmys See Glee as a Comedy and Drama?

Jane Lynch is buzzed about for a comedy nom, but the show's so gloomy, it could wind up competing against dramas

Could Jane Lynch get an Emmy nom for comedy, while the more-and-more gloomy Glee is nominated as a drama?

As they say, sadly, no. From the official Emmy rules:

"The placement of a program automatically directs the placement of all individual achievement entries...if a program is placed in comedy series, performers must follow in comedy series categories."

So even if Lynch is funny, and the rest of the series isn't—not that I'm saying that, but, really, I'm saying that—Lynch would have to compete in whatever category Glee occupies.
