Brad Pitt, Ready to Play Ball with Charlize Theron?

Can these two megastars create an unstoppable event? We hope so

It's time for Brad Pitt and Charlize Theron to get together.

No, not because they're two of the most beautiful people in Hollywood, but…

Like Mr. Pitt, Theron would love to see the U.S. host the FIFA World Cup again, as it did back in 1994.

"It would be amazing," Theron told me exclusively at Spike TV's Guys Choice Awards. "I think it would be incredible for the sport.

"If the [U.S.] plays well—fingers crossed—it could really really change things and it could be great for the sport here," she said of this year's soon-to-begin soccer tournament. "I'm all for it."

Pitt announced just five days ago that he has joined the board of directors for the committee putting together the U.S. bid to host the month-long Cup in 2018 or 2022. The decision will be announced on Dec. 2.

Theron will be at this year's tournament, which kicks off June 11, in her native South Africa in support of her charity, Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project. And after that, she's off to Australia for a year to film Mad Max: Fury Road.
