As we learn in the pilot for October Road, "It is a fool who refuses to return to the place of his last happiness." And that is exactly why on Thursday nights I'm always back on my couch with my TiVo remote in hand, and tonight I'm going to be there for October Road, the new ABC drama starring Bryan Greenberg and Donna—er, Laura Prepon (That '70s Show).

So many of you have emailed in with questions about this series, it inspired me to have a little chat with creator Scott Rosenberg and star Bryan Greenberg. And here's what I can tell you about the Road:

October Road Is Loosely Based on a True Story:  This lighthearted drama (dare I say dramedy?) is about a bestselling novelist who returns to his hometown after 10 years. It's based on the experiences of Beautiful Girls screenwriter Scott Rosenberg and his struggles reconciling with friends and family after the release of that film. "Beautiful Girls is entirely based on my friends," Rosenberg says. "And at the end of the day, nobody likes to think that Michael Rapaport is the way that they speak."

You Will Heart Bryan Greenberg:  Since the lead character, Nick Garrett (Greenberg), is based on Rosenberg, I asked what he looked for in an actor for the part. "I chose Bryan solely because he was really handsome, because inside me is a handsome man who needs to get out!" Rosenberg said. "The guys who would came in for the part were really good-looking—and either they couldn't act or they were dead-eyed, like sharks. So we kissed a lot of frogs and then Bryan [came in], and we were like, 'Dude, we found our Nick Garrett!' And it was truly that simple."

You'll Heart Laura Prepon All the More:  Laura is amazing in this, and I'm not the only one who thinks so. "I've seen her work before, but I never met her until we worked together, " Bryan says. "But there is this unwritten chemistry that happens that you can't predict. We just hit the jackpot." That chemistry pops when Nick learns that his first love Hannah (Prepon) has a 10-year-old son who just might share Nick's DNA—and also an ultra-hateable boyfriend. I smell a love triangle!

To see the chemistry for yourself, tune in to ABC tonight at 10 after Grey's Anatomy
