The stork has delivered a little Birdie for Busy.

Actress Busy Philipps and her screenwriter hubby Marc Silverstein are celebrating the arrival of a bouncing baby girl, the couple's first, E! News has learned.

Birdie Leigh Silverstein made her entrance in the world on Wednesday, weighing in at a healthy 9 pounds, 7 ounces. The tyke was 21½ inches long.

Birdie follows in that venerable tradition of quirky celebrity baby names such as Suri Cruise, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, Apple Martin and (our favorite) Pilot Inspektor Lee.

Philipps first got her start in Hollywood appearing on Judd Apatow's short-lived cult series Freaks and Geeks in 1999 before landing a regular role for two seasons on the WB's Dawson's Creek. She also was heavily featured in the 2006-07 season of ER and appeared on the big screen in this summer's comedy Made of Honor.

Toward the end of her pregnancy, Busy remained busy, reportedly filming a guest shot on Fox's Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Silverstein is best known for penning 1999's Drew Barrymore starrer Never Been Kissed. He's also one of the writers on the upcoming comedy He's Just Not That Into You.

Silverstein and Philipps tied the knot last year.
