John Mayer, Jennifer Aniston

Who says couples have to do everything together? (Besides tabloids and other judgmental types?)

Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer may not have been photographed together since July 27, but each is still looking perfectly happy. Whatever it is causing their fresh, healthy glow, be it thoughts of a significant other waiting for him/her on the other side of the border or relief to be spending a few days as a single entity—it's working.

On a break from touring, Mayer flew down to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Aug. 3 to unwind and has barely worn a stitch of clothing since. The singer, either lounging in a hot tub or wrapped in a towel, has been kicking back with friends, smoking cigars and otherwise living the (Your Body Is a) Wonderland life.

And while his actress gal-pal was dutifully present for concerts in London and various U.S. locales, Aniston has opted to stay put in L.A. and do her own thing for the time being.

The star of the upcoming Marley and Me was spotted Aug. 6 leaving the Foxtail Restaurant & Lounge in West Hollywood, where a source tells E! News she was celebrating a friend's birthday.

"They had dinner, she had the tuna nicoise," our spy said. "They were there for a while.  She had a lovely time. Everyone thought she was very lovely."

Aniston followed up that photo opportunity with a little furniture shopping the following day and an appearance at the 5th Annual Friends of El Faro fundraiser, benefiting a Tijuana orphanage, at nightspot Boulevard3.

Meanwhile, Mayer doesn't have to report back for duty until Aug. 19, when he's scheduled to play the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Charlotte, N.C.
