Oh, mama. CBS boss Nina Tassler just took the stage at the TV Critics Press Tour and here are the headlines from that session:
• Sarah Chalke will be doing multiple episodes of How I Met Your Mother this fall. Is she the mother? Nina: "Right now I don't think so." Has it not been decided? Hmmm...
• William Petersen will be replaced on CSI by a new outsider who shares a DNA sequence with serial killers and who will work his way up to become a leader of the team. This genetic heritage, which is a secret only he knows, gives him unique insight into the behaviors and instincts of murderers. The role will be played by "an actor of stature." Guesses? Suggestions?
• "The response to Moonlight was more actor-centric." (Perhaps an implication that the passionate fans were passionate for Alex O'Loughlin and not about the show overall?) I have a feeling some of you might want to comment on that below.
• Jay Mohr is not here to promote Gary Unmarried because he's getting remarried, renewing his vows to Nikki Cox. Awww...So sweet. Still, I can't help but think he might be avoiding doing press on this show, which, sorry, so isn't my cup of tea.
• When asked about the possible future of Swingtown, Nina said, "I'm a little disappointed in the ratings." Uh-oh. Is that the ax swinging?
