Britney Spears is ready to speak her piece in a court of law.

On Tuesday, April 27, E! News was present for a virtual court hearing in which Britney's attorney, Sam Ingham, said the pop star would like the judge to set a status hearing in order for her to "address the court directly." Ingham didn't specify what matters Britney will address, but asked the date be set on an "expedited basis."

Following his request, the judge set a status hearing for June 23. At this time, it's unclear if the status hearing will be open to the public.

Additionally, Sam stated there have been "last minute developments" involving Britney, but did not divulge the nature of those changes.

Regarding her conservatorship, Jamie Spears' attorney, Vivian Thoreen, said he plans to sign the order officially appointing Bessemer Trust as co-conservator of the estate imminently.

A source close to Britney told E! News the 39-year-old mother of two was "very excited" to attend the wedding. As the insider put it, she's been "eager to get out and do stuff."

According to the insider, Britney was previously unable to participate in outings of this sort because of the coronavirus pandemic and "restrictions" set by her father.

As for how Britney got permission to attend, the source explained, "Her mom [Lynne Spears] has been helping her try to change her situation and to have more freedom to do the things she wants to do. This was something that was important to Britney and she got to do it."

Sightings of the pop star have been few and far between in recent years, but as of late, the singer has enjoyed more frequent public outings.

In the same Instagram post, she assured fans she's doing well, despite all of the speculation about her wellbeing.

"Yes, I'm totally fine. I'm extremely happy. I have a beautiful home, beautiful children," she shared. "I'm taking a break right now, because, um, I'm enjoying myself."
