Reunited Kiss the Girls cohorts Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman display an uncanny chemistry that overcomes an unlikely pretzel of a script. Hotshot young lawyer Judd and nearly spent older lawyer Freeman wrestle with a military court to exonerate Judd's hubby (Jim Caviezel), who is being tried as a war criminal for special-ops misdeeds he allegedly committed under a different name years before in El Salvador.
(And that ain't even the half of it!) Judd is a hard-boiled babe who might be our modern Bette Davis as she banters and badgers and bullies her way through a man's world trying to save her man. And Freeman is simply stunning with a quiet power all his own, wrestling demon alcohol--and winning--without all the phony self-congratulations many actors would bring to such a role. If only all buddy pictures were this good.
