Fans of the Nickelodeon TV series may be somewhat entertained, but almost everyone else will 'toon out this disappointing and bland kiddy pic. With a football-shaped noggin, Arnold lives in a big-city neighborhood that's about to become the next megamall. He goes big head-to-head with the evil developer Scheck (voiced by Paul Sorvino), but doesn't show any personality along the way.
Actually, the bad guy is the most interesting character on screen, as this tale offers little more wit or charm than just another episode of the TV series. While Nickelodeon's other popular shows--like Rugrats and the soon-to-be-a-movie The Wild Thornberries--have a gimmick worth latching on to, this drab tale is all about being polite, politically correct and nice to everyone. Geez, that'll kill a movie every time.
