All Dr. Conrad (Michael Douglas) wants to do for Thanksgiving is leave the psychobabble at the office, watch the Macy's parade with his daughter and eat a maid-prepared turkey dinner in his Manhattan co-op. But wouldn't ya know it? Big-time bank robbers, led by British baddie Sean Bean, need info from the mind of Douglas' newest pro bono patient (the acceptably psycho Brittany Murphy).
So, they kidnap his kid, Big Brother his apartment and our formulaic story of high thievery and a regular guy rising to the occasion kicks off. Douglas puts on his Game face to solve the mystery in Murphy's head and gives the bad guys their due in this predictable race-against-the-clocker. Fortunately, there are just enough twists to keep things from fully shifting to auto pilot, while the flick's support staff--namely buddy Oliver Platt and wifey Famke Janssen--also add some much needed sprucing.
