They're Cock-ed, and you better be ready for a good time with this sweet and concise documentary. In case you don't know, the Cockettes were a sexually-anarchic San Franciscan drag troupe that spent the late '60s and early '70s making joyful, often tone-deaf noise and thumbing their glittered noses at anything, and anyone, remotely square or straight.
Oh, and they took a bunch of drugs, stole clothes and didn't bathe so much. The surviving members gather here to reminisce about the good ol' days and reflect on the quality of lives lived intentionally outside the mainstream. It's a warm, vibrant visit with a flock of freaky creative people and proves that being a total weirdo is a very good thing indeed.
