We never thought we'd never say this, but, Eddie, please bring back the talking bear or put on the fat suit...or something. Family-friendly Eddie Murphy hits moon rock bottom when he plays a hip nightclub owner protecting his joint from organized-crime types. Oh, and did we mention that this takes place in the future and on the moon? Cheap, trite and boring in every way--from the Styrofoam sets to the very few laughs--this mess drifts aimlessly.
Murphy is on autopilot and sucks a decent crew--Rosario Dawson, Joe Pantoliano and Jay Mohr--into a black hole of humor. It's a scientific fact: In this space, no one can hear you laugh...because it's not funny.
