The 23-year-old One Direction singer and 33-year-old girlfriend Cheryl Cole, a fellow pop star who once judged him and his group on The X Factor, are expecting their first child. She had showcased her baby bump on a night out with him earlier this month and E! News learned she is in her second trimester.
However, neither Payne nor Cole has ever talked about the pregnancy. He avoided the subject again Saturday, while taking part in an #AskLiam Q&A session on Twitter.
"Are you happy honey?" one fan asked.
"The happiest I could be," Payne replied.
He ignored questions from fans about his and Cole's upcoming arrival, some of which were a bit rude.
"Is Cheryl pregnant? Is that baby yours?" one person asked.
"What will be the baby's name?" another user asked.
Some fans took it even further.
"How would you feel if your baby dates Freddie?" one person asked, referring to band mate Louis Tomlinson's almost 11-month-old son.
Cole also remained mum about her pregnancy in an interview with The Mirror's Notebook magazine a few weeks ago.
She talked mostly about Christmas, saying that she does not want presents and that for her, the holiday is all about family.
