Watch: David Beckham Praises Son Cruz For His New Song

David Beckham is one proud father.

Last week, his 11-year-old son Cruz Beckham released his very first song, but it wasn't necessarily the music that made the former soccer stud smile from ear-to-ear. Rather, it was the significance behind it.

All proceeds from Cruz's single, "If Every Day Was Christmas," goes to the foundation Global's Make Some Noise, and while David would like to think he and wife Victoria Beckham raised their son to be this young, charitable man, he gives all the props to Cruz.

E! News caught up with the athlete at UNICEF's 70th anniversary party on Monday night where he told us, "[Victoria and I] like to think that we can credit ourselves...You always hope that your children are listening and taking notice, and this is a good example that, actually, they are. Children are like sponges, they soak everything in, and you don't realize it until they come out with something like what Cruz has just done."

He continued, "He came to us five weeks ago, and we realized he has a cute little voice—a good little voice—and a passion. He said, 'Why don't I do a Christmas song, and give the funds to a charity.'"

So the parents sought some help from family friend Scooter Braun and made the track happen. But despite the Justin Bieber comparisons and the talk of his future in the music industry, David is simply proud his son is using his voice for a great cause.

"It's a passion for [Cruz]," the father gushed. "It's amazing that at 11-years-old he realizes it's a good thing to do to give back. So we're proud parents."

So sweet!
