We totally support Justin Timberlake's Halloween costume for his son Silas.
The music superstar admits that he just may dress the 18-month-old little guy as a troll because, as you probably know, JT stars in the new animated movie about the colorful dolls.
"It feels appropriate, although slightly narcissistic to make my son dress up as a character that I play," Timberlake told me yesterday at the rainbow carpet premiere of Trolls.
But then added with a smile, "But I don't care what you think, we're doing it."
In the movie, Poppy (Anna Kendrick) enlists Branch (Timberlake) to help save their fellow trolls from being eaten by the Bergens because feasting on the rainbow-hued creatures is the only thing that gives them a feeling of happiness.
The trolls really are pure happiness. One of them even farts glitter and another poops cupcakes!
Timberlake also produced the music for the film, which includes his Oscar-buzzy single "Can't Stop the Feeling" and covers of Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors" and Diana Ross' "I'm Coming Out."
Silas has seen the movie. "He knows all the characters," Timberlake gushed. "When I first showed him the movie—I was able to show him at home, that's one of the perks—as soon as it was over, he said, 'Trolls again!'"
He added, "There's so much merchandise so we have the books and read the books. It's really cool to have something that we can look back on and see this moment I got to share with him."
Kendrick may not be a mom, but her friends are. "Some friends of mine have already sent me videos of their kids singing along to the doll that sings the songs and I was like, ‘I don't know what to do with this.' Like, little two-year-olds! Oh, it's exciting," Kendrick said. "I've never been a doll before."
Trolls is in theaters on Nov. 4.
The cast also includes Zooey Deschanel, James Corden, Russell Brand, Kunal Nayyar, Gwen Stefani, Christine Baranski, Jeffrey Tambor and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.
