Every mom says their child is special, but Zooey Deschanel's baby girl is "really special."

In a new interview with Ellen DeGeneres, the New Girl star is opening up about the joys of motherhood. Along the way, she's also giving fans an update into her 14-month-old daughter.

"She is really special. She's saying some words. She says a lot of words but she's really obsessed with hats right now," Zooey shared on Monday's all-new Ellen DeGeneres Show. "My mom wears hats a lot and we had dinner with her and as soon as my mom came out, my daughter said, ‘hat! hat!'"

The actress added, "I think she's really proud that she recognizes that and if she walks in my closet, the hats are on the top shelf and she'll point to them."

While baby Elsie may not like to wear hats—she prefers bows—Zooey and Jacob Pechenik's daughter also loves to say apple, cheese and crackers. Or as Zooey joked, "all the important things."

If you weren't impressed already, the Trolls star revealed that her child has already been on an airplane. And while she's a great passenger, mom is a bit more flustered when it comes to how airlines treat new parents and their kids.

"She's great on a plane but they stop letting people go first with babies and there's so much stuff and I was really excited about this privilege that you get to go on first if you have a baby," she shared.

While parenthood brings more joy than Zooey could have ever imagined, she's also more than excited about her newest project on the big screen.

In the animated movie Trolls, Zooey lends her voice to a film that also features Justin Timberlake, Anna Kendrick and James Corden.

"I love it," she told Ellen when asked about her experience doing animation. "I don't have to put on makeup, dress up or do anything." Trolls hits theaters everywhere November 4.
