It's been a little over a week since Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, and after spending 12 years together (almost inseparably), we can't help but wonder how the two are doing on their own.

Luckily, they both have tight inner circles who they've been able to lean on lately, helping them get through this difficult time without feeling so lonely. Jolie has a couple close girlfriends who have stayed by her side, even living with her and her six kids following the frenzy after the divorce news broke. Pitt, on the other hand, has the love and support of his family, including his parents and his younger siblings.

As they continue to move forward from this heartbreaking time, let's get to know the people who are helping them do so:

Baroness Arminka Helic: Team Angie

Helic is a Bosnian foreign policy expert and member of the U.K. House of Lords who used to work as an adviser to former British foreign secretary William Hague. Hague is known for being one of the biggest influencers on Jolie—a special envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees—and her work in Bosnia.

In 2012, Jolie first bonded with Helic while working with Hague on the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative to help end war zone rape. Since then, the pair have stayed very close. Helic advises Jolie on political issues and educates Jolie on issues surrounding war-torn countries, typically regarding women and children. She even travels abroad with Jolie, a source told Entertainment Tonight.

Chloe Dalton: Team Angie

Dalton is the daughter of former British ambassador to Iran and Libya, Sir Richard Dalton. She, too, has ties to Hague, having worked in his office as his speechwriter at the same time Jolie was working with him.

The trio of Jolie, Dalton and Helic eventually ended up forming the Jolie Pitt Dalton Helic foundation in 2015, aiming to help refugees, prevent violence against women and improve access to education.

In fact, earlier this year, Jolie told People magazine, "We have been officially working together for a year and are very much looking forward to continuing our joint efforts on our shared international interests."

William Alvin Pitt & Jane Etta Pitt: Team Brad

Brad's parents, William and Jane, have been very involved in the actor's life, especially in helping looking after his and Jolie's six children from time to time. The Pitt parents have joined Pitt and Jolie on the red carpet before and were two of the 22 people invited to the couple's wedding in 2014.

Jane even spoke out about how proud she was of Jolie following her double mastectomy in 2013. "We're so very proud of Angie," Jane said in a statement to People. "This means so much to our family especially our grandchildren. We love her dearly."

Doug Pitt & Julie Neal: Team Brad

Brad's younger brother, Doug, and his younger sister, Julie, are not only family members, but two of the actor's closest friends. They both were at the former couple's wedding and have often been photographed with the couple during family events and holidays. They're also heavily involved in charitable works like Brad, building foundations and charities in their different hometowns.

Though they both live in Missouri, Brad stays in communication with them and has likely sought their support in the days following his divorce news.

Meanwhile, Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt on Monday, Sept. 19, according to court documents obtained by E! News, with news of their split hitting headlines and shocking the world on Tuesday, Sept. 20.

The actress' manager, Geyer Kosinski, released a statement on her behalf, saying, "Angelina will always do what's in the best interest of taking care of her family. She appreciates everyone's understanding of their need for privacy at this time."

Brad also broke his silence about the divorce in statement, saying, "I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the wellbeing of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time."
