Watch: Serena Williams Reveals Inspiration Behind Fashion Line

Forget about the tennis court! Serena Williams is ready to conquer New York Fashion Week.

After the world-renowned athlete competed in the U.S. Open, it was time to head to the Big Apple and put on a special fashion show.

But before debuting the latest looks from Serena Williams Signature Statement by HSN, the designer sat down with E! News exclusively and expressed how excited she was to showcase her timeless looks.

"I'm really hands on. I do all the hair, the makeup, inspirations, the nails, literally everything. I love it," Serena confessed to E! News. "If I'm not 100 percent hands on, I'm like a little overbearing. I want to know how everything is going and what color are their nails."

She continued, "I just changed the lips so we're still making a little last minute changes but it's pretty good."

Special guests including Venus WilliamsLa La Anthony and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour were just some of the famous faces who had a front-row seat to the looks. And for those wondering where close friends Beyoncé and Jay Z were, there is no question that they were cheering on from home.

"It's great to have Beyoncé and Jay Z supporting," she shared. "It's always wonderful to see them at tennis and it's always good when you can just rely on someone and know that they're always in your corner whether they are there or not and that's kind of how it is with us."

For those who missed out on the show, Serena promises that her pieces won't just last one short season. And coming from a woman who brought fashion back into tennis, we're totally on board.

"I definitely look back [on past looks] and go, ‘Okay, can I still fit that?' I look back and most of them are really kind of cool still," she shared. "They were able to stand the test of time and that's what I want my collection here to do."

She added, "I want it to always stand the test of time and several years later, you're still able to pull it out of the closet and look amazing."
