As New York Fashion Week kicked off, Taylor Swift stepped out.
Fresh off her split from her beau of three months, British actor Tom Hiddleston, the Grammy winner headed out into the Big Apple with supermodel Lily Aldridge by her side. After all, when it comes to a breakup, hanging with a bestie is the perfect remedy.
Donning a black v-neck blouse, white pencil skirt and cutout sandals with a chunky heel, the pop star—and her blond bob—looked sleek and chic. Topped off with a cherry lip, the "Shake It Off" singer was ready to take on the town. Aldridge opted for a laid-back look featuring a striped tie-up top, ripped light wash jeans and fur-trimmed loafers.
The gal pals headed to the Greenwich Hotel, where they were sighted being escorted into a private drawing room within the building.
While Taylor hasn't spoken publicly of her breakup, she has been sighted out and about in Manhattan, most frequently to workout sessions at Body By Simone. According to a source, she wants to stay away from Cupid's arrow for right now.
"[Taylor] is upset it came to an end and wants to take some time to just chill away from any relationship," an insider told E! News. "They had a loved-filled three months, but it may have [gotten] too hot too soon."
As for the reason behind the sudden split, sources say their physical distance and high publicity took a toll. "Taylor felt he wanted to take the relationship to be too public," an insider explained. "She was not happy about it and thought it was too much publicity."
