Gabby Douglas is on the mend!

After skipping the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards Sunday, where she was supposed to attend with the rest of the Final Five, Douglas is finally recovering. Earlier Sunday, Douglas revealed she was "out of the hospital and resting comfortably," but didn't give any indication as to what was wrong. Tuesday night, however, Gabby posted a picture of her in a medical chair and revealed what had happened to make her miss the annual awards show.

"Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know that I'm doing ok! I had a complication from a prior injury that caused a cyst to grow on a bone in my mouth. Got it removed and feeling much better now," she captioned the picture, adding that there might be more oral surgery to come. "Thanks for all your concerns and prayers and HUGE thank you to the doctors that have taken care of me these last four days! #ontheroadtorecovery #butIstillgottagetthesewisdomteethout."

We're glad you're feeling better! Taking some time off might be good for the gold medal-winning gymnast, as she has a busy couple of months coming up. On Sept. 11, 2016, Douglas will serve as a judge at the 2016 Miss America Competition. Douglas will join Mark Cuban, actress Sara Foster, singer-songwriter Cole Swindell, Ciara, actress Laura Marano and former Miss America Sharlene Wells Hawkes as celebrity judges for the live broadcast of the competition.

"Miss America has been such an amazing event for so many years and I am excited to have the opportunity to judge the competition this year," Douglas said in a statement upon releasing the news. "The contestants are a great example of strong women across America and I especially look forward to hearing the platforms that each of them will represent!"

The 2017 Miss America Competition will air live from Atlantic City's Boardwalk Hall on Sunday, September 11 on ABC.
