Chris Brown has emerged from his home to speak with police after a standoff that began early in the morning.

The 27-year-old, who is currently the subject of a felony assault investigation with a deadly weapon after a woman called 911 claiming the singer threatened her with a gun, stepped out of his Tarzana home Tuesday afternoon to cooperate with authorities, a helicopter pilot for FOX 10 Phoenix confirmed. The man believed to be Chris was seen sitting down in a white T-shirt and red hat as an officer stood nearby. He was not handcuffed.

The decision comes after the R&B singer went on social media asking why the cops were bothering his neighborhood.

"So I'm asleep half the damn night, and I just wake up all these motherf--king helicopters choppers is around police out there out the gate. C'mon my n---a what the f--k else do you want from me," he said on Instagram. "I'm way too tired to be dealing with this bulls--t."

He continued, "Every three months y'all get tired of me. You gotta be. Every three months y'all come up with something, bro. what is it?"

Ultimately, a victim later identified by TMZ as Miss California Regional 2016 Baylee Curran, alleged that Chris pointed a gun and threatened her. Police later confirmed that the initial call came in at 3 a.m. local time from the victim outside of Chris' house.

The case has been taken over by the West Valley Robbery Homicide Division who arrived on site.

If Chris failed to leave his house when the Los Angeles police obtained a warrant, the SWAT team could have been called in. "This is a normal response when someone is armed and refusing to come out," a law enforcement source shared with E! News earlier in the day. The source also explained that because Chris is a celebrity, robbery homicide detectives were called in rather than regular police.

As for reports that someone in Chris' house threw a bag outside of a window, police told E! News that they cannot confirm what the bag contained.

Chris' attorney Mark Geragos and another member from his law firm were spotted at the singer's home Tuesday afternoon. "He's trying to help talk some sense into [Chris]," a law enforcement source told E! News.
