Beyonce, Chance the Rapper

MTV

Let's be honest: last night should have actually been called the Bey-MAs.

From her incredible angel-like gown to bringing Blue Ivy as her guest to her jaw-dropping, 15-minute performance, Beyoncé reigned over the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.

And to think, some of her amazing surprises weren't even caught on-stage!

For example, during one of Chance the Rapper's backstage interviews, Queen B decided to pop up behind him and make her presence known, totally catching both him and the reporter off-guard.

"Oh my God! That was awesome," the rapper gasped after realizing who had hugged him. "This is my life!"

Bey, not wanting to be rude (of course), made sure to say hello to the host, too, complimenting her tattoos and even giving her a hug.

The reporter reacted in a similarly surprised manner, almost unable to speak she she kept repeating, "That just happened!"

Meanwhile, for anyone who didn't think Bey could step up her musical game any more than she already has, she proved them wrong last night during her VMA performance.

The singer took the audience through a dance-heavy, passionate, 15-minute medley of a bunch of her songs off Lemonade, providing insane visuals, costume changes and incredible choreography.

She included the infamous bat from her "Hold Up" video and even gave the crowd a kiss after singing about "Becky with the good hair."

The performance was met with a well-deserved standing ovation from everyone in Madison Square Garden...and a mandatory mic drop (obviously) from the Queen.

Beyoncé capped off her night—during which she saw a career-best 11 nominations—by taking home Video of the Year.
