Lorde's ability to remain true to herself is one of the characteristics fans love about her...and that's precisely why she isn't afraid to clap back on social media when people question her as an artist.

In fact, earlier this week, a fan commented on the singer's Instagram, asking, "Do you think we will ever get another album or should we just give up on you as an artist?"

Granted, it's apparent the fan is just tired of waiting for new music, eager for one of her favorite musicians to release something new. However, Lorde couldn't help but stand up for herself and her hard work.

"Give up on me if you want to!," she commented back on Instagram. "I'm an artist, I write a record when I have enough special stories to tell, and it's all me, every melody every lyric, not some team who just start the machine up every eighteen months like clockwork. the record is written, we're in the production stages now. I've worked like a dog for a year making this thing great for you guys."

But the 19-year-old singer—whose words have always proven she's wise beyond her years—isn't alone.

Several other celebrities have also clapped back on social media, shutting down the naysayers and the critics when they feel strongly about standing up for what they believe in:

Chrissy Teigen The model is one of the celebs most known for shutting down Twitter trolls and haters. However, one of her most biggest Twitter clap-backs came when people criticized her for doing IVF

"What happens if u kid decides 'she' wants 2 identify as 'he'?" one follower asked. "Y is picking gender important unless u hope 2 enforce it?"

Never one to hold back, Chrissy replied with little filter. "What in the…she can do whatever she wants," she explained. "People really reaching for outrage here."

She continued, "Mentions. In. shambles. Lol. 'what...what...what if....your GIRL wants to...be......chem trails.....and cis....and....vegan...and....other buzzwords...'stop looking HERE for s--t to be mad at. There are so many other things that deserve your outrage."

Selena Gomez The singer hasn't been afraid to shut down the haters on social media, especially when it comes to her best friends or body shaming.

In fact, when one Instagram user commented on SelGo's photo that she she needed to "stop eating junk food" and "workout," the singer wasn't having it.

"I don't need to do anything other than love myself, take care of my work, fans, family and friends," she responded in a comment that's since been deleted along with the user's comment. "And I do work out. It's not your place to tell anybody what they should or shouldn't do."

Paris Jackson The daughter of Michael Jackson has always seen hate on social media, but recently she decided to call people out for leaving negative comments on her Instagram and urge them to simply unfollow her!

Paris tackled the topic straight-on in an a thoughtful, impassioned Instagram post. "I realize that a very very large portion of the followers I have are people that highly dislike me and very much enjoy to write negative things about what I say and do," she wrote. "It's alarming and a little scary how a small thing I do blows up because the negative followers try to micromanage and control what I do, and there was something I did to piss them off that they don't agree with..."

Paris noted that "if anyone says something rude or hurtful, their account is blocked." Then, though, these blocked commenters become upset at having been blocked, she explained. It's an unnecessary cycle, for which the wise teenager suggested the simple solution: "...if anyone that doesn't like me is following this account, I urge you to please just unfollow."

She acknowledged that while she tries "to do everything I can with love and humor, sometimes it doesn't come across that way"—and for that, she "genuinely apologize(s)." But when it comes to being nasty for the sake of being nasty, Paris won't stand for it.

"I think it's a very black and white, all or nothing type of deal here," wrote Paris, "and if that's the case, I'd rather not be using social media. It's getting crazy again, like it did a few years ago when I took a 3 year break from social media."

She concluded, reiterating her message: "Once again, if you don't like me please don't waste your time on me."

The beauty wasn't having it and opted to write back: "I've dated 3 guys in 3 yrs, hun. My walk can always get better; I hope the unrelated bitterness in ur heart can too."

"I get it. Cause I'm a whore?" she wrote. "Glad I took a photo with you. Hi to your dad." Zing!

Case in point: the time she slammed a sexist Facebook commenter.

The user wrote on one of her posts, "Ariana all respect, but dangerous woman I loved but the trouble is that in he [sic] video salts like a whore!...sorry for the rudeness, I only just said the truth...SORRY."

Grande responded perfectly: "When will people stop being offended by women showing skin/expressing sexuality? men take their shirts off / express their sexuality on stage, in videos, on instagram, anywhere they want to...all. the. time," she wrote. "The double standard is so boring and exhausting. with all due respect, i think it's time you get your head out of your ass. woman [sic] can love their bodies too!!"

In fact, she once took to Twitter to try to stop the haters in their tracks. "Dear haters, you don't have to like me cause I love you. Everyone's equal, everyone has a soul and everyone deserves to be loved," she wrote, adding a heart emoji to her heartfelt post. "Dear Lovatics, for every hater tweet - don't respond with hate but love and positivity.. Try love instead of combat."

She then practiced what she preached when one of her followers called her a "fatty," retweeting the tweet before telling the tweeter "you are beautiful."

Khloe took the opportunity to remind them of Odom's adulterous past and stand up for herself. "Divorce is still going forward. Doesn't mean I won't be there through sickness and health.
